Speaking to reporters on the important category of the Brand Icon of the year nominations, Satya Brahma, Chairman & Editor-In-Chief of Indian Affairs said ‘’ India Leadership Conclave Platform has been created to dwell upon the most burning issues the country is facing in the light of changing political scenario specially the Elections 2014 which India will chose its next rulers. In this context, The Jury Members added this new category as the branding icon is someone who is viewed by the popular masses as a catalyst of change. Among the nominees are the popular faces in five different fields such as Sports, Cinema, Communication, and Social Reforms & Politics. Actress Katrina Kaif, Sportsstar Virat Kohli, Social Activist & Former IPS office Kiran Bedi, Political Reformer Jaipal Ramesh & Branding Guru Shailendra Singh of Percept were the unanimous choice for the top five finalists who made it to the Nominations said Satya.

The reason for choosing these iconic figures are simple as once viewed as a source of solutions for the country's economic and social problems, the Indian polity is increasingly seen by political observers as the problem. When populist political appeals stir the passions of the masses, government institutions appear less capable than ever before of accommodating conflicts in a society mobilized along competing ethnic and religious lines. In addition, law and order have become increasingly tenuous because of the growing inability of the police to curb criminal activities and quell communal disturbances. Indeed, many observers bemoan the "criminalization" of Indian politics at a time when politicians routinely hire "muscle power" to improve their electoral prospects, and criminals themselves successfully run for public office. These circumstances have led some observers to conclude that India has entered into a growing crisis of governability.

Arguably the undisputed queen of Indian Cinema, Katrina Kaif has carved a dominant space for herself in an highly competitive Indian motion pictures, her constant blockbuster movies has made one of Bolywood’s highest paid actress & is rising her space day by day.
Sport star Virat Kohli has emerged out as one of the finest find in Indian cricket & is being seen as future captain of india. Virat’s rise is attributed to his consistent performances in both forms of the game. Virat is currently the captain of Royal Challenge of Bangalore in IPL.

Former IPS Officer Kiran Bedi

She was one of the architect of India’s biggest social revolution since independence & inspired millions in India Against Corruption Movement.
